DESIGNER

Collette Chamberlain joined Reflective Images in 2008 and holds a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree. She is a jeweler, designer, graphic designer, musician, fine art painter, photographer and holds a second degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. She was born in New Mexico and has lived in Santa Fe where she has raised her own family.

Collette has a love for the exploration of color, perspective and detail. As displayed through the multifariousness of her life it's no surprise she tends to be drawn to and create intricate and complex patterns and designs, such as with her Arbor Pendant. Her work is influenced by mandalas and the renowned artist, M C Escher. She generates her ideas initially utilizing Photoshop, then takes them over to form and manipulate precious metals.

This design only uses precious metal that is certified as recycled, by a third party. This metal comes from a variety of industrial sources. Once refined, it has the exact same composition as a precious metal that was mined directly from the Earth.

We started making jewelry with Fairtrade Gold in 2011, and in April, 2015, we became the first Certified Fairtrade Gold jeweler in the US. Despite working with Fairtrade International as a commercial liaison to create a viable commercial program that would build the movement, as of October, 2017, we are still the only Certified Fairtrade Gold jeweler in the USA. We have been active in these issues for over years, co-founding Fair Jewelry Action, a human rights and environmental justice network, and running numerous campaigns to the public and jewelry trade promoting environmental justice and human rights. In our own bio-region, we initiated and co-lead a campaign to successfully block a gold mine south of our Santa Fe home and remain active on local boards to preserve Santa Fe and surrounding regions from drilling and mining.
