After graduating from Brown University with a BA in English/Creating writing in 1984, Marc spent two years in Haiti as a volunteer, working in Mother Teresa’s clinics and running an orphanage. Upon his return, he spent a year in meditation retreat at a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, followed by five years of teaching English at a Native American school.
